Tom Ryan’s mental health journey began at 18, when he was first committed to a mental institution. For decades, he battled depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and trauma — searching for answers in hospitals, medications, therapy, and support groups. The pain was real, and the fight was relentless.
For more than 40 years, Tom studied mental health like his life depended on it. He read thousands of articles, interviewed hundreds of people, and explored every path — from traditional psychiatry and counseling to western medications and psychedelic medicine. He tested treatments, cataloged research, and gathered lived experiences, determined to understand what truly helps.

Out of that struggle came his “8 Ways” to Kick Ass w/Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar & Trauma— practical, lived strategies he uses every day to push back against his “crazy”. These aren’t theories. They’re tools forged through experience, experimentation, and survival.
Today, at 66, Tom is still researching, still learning, and still fighting. His mission is simple and bold: to prove that Nobody’s Normal — and that’s exactly what makes us strong.
Tom is also a strong advocate for psychedelic medicines. He works as a psychedelic guide, specializing in psilocybin experiences, including longer-form journeys and microdosing approaches. His focus is on safety, intention, and helping people explore their inner world with clarity and compassion.
Through his work, Tom invites others into the Nobody’s Normal community — a space built on honesty, resilience, and connection. Because the truth is simple: you are not alone, even when it feels like you are.
“Together we rise. Not for acceptance, but for truth. Nobody’s Normal — and that’s our power.”
